This week's Wildflower Wednesday's feature flower is the Black Eyed Susan.
Did you know Black Eyed Susans are the plant host of the Silvery Checkerspot butterfly caterpillar. (seen in picture #1)
They are pioneer plants, which means they are one of the first plants to grow after a fire or other natural disaster.
In the floral world they represent encouragement, so if you know someone going through a hard time, gift them a bouquet of these cheerful flowers!
